Freedom Life ( Old Money Market )


  • Freedom Life was the old method of using saving stamps which is being replaced by the new Shoprite Money Market (MMA), old stamps can still be used but in future customers will need to have a Money Market Account


HOW TO REGISTER


• Customers must be 18 years or older.

• Must have a valid South African Identity Document.

• Only one Shoprite or Checkers Money account per customer.


2 WAYS TO REGISTER

1 ON YOUR PHONE


• Dial *134*3534#

• Select: Register

• Enter your RSA ID number

• Accept the T&Cs and confirm your details

• Create a PIN

• Confirm if you want to receive marketing information


2 OR, TAKE YOUR SA ID TO ANY SHOPRITE OR CHECKERS MONEY MARKET COUNTER.


You will get an SMS with a unique 6-digit ONE-TIME PIN (OTP). Show this number to the cashier.

3. USSD String: This only used by Shoprite Money customer (*134*3534#)

1. How to Reset pin:

System required: Cellbux


Step 1: Request the customer’s cell number on which the money wallet is registered, and check the customer profile on Cellbux – this is to ensure that you

are speaking to the correct person.

Step 2: Head to check status – to identify the status of the wallet Open/Locked (optional)

Step 3: Go back to Cellbux home screen and select: Password Reset (also known as Pin Reset)

Step 4: Enter the cell number obtained from customer in step 1

Step 5: Select to send OTP (Note: The customer needs to have the cell number available, as the OTP sent, the customer will need to give to the consultant)

Step 6: Consultant to obtain the OTP from the customer telephonically, and verify the 6-digit OTP on Cellbux


Note: It will take up to 4 hours for the customer to receive an SMS with a new Pin, however in store over the Shoprite or Checkers Money Market Counter,

this is available immediately.

2. Cash-Out:


System required: USSD String *134*3534#


Step 1: In store the customer will dial *134*3534#

Step 2: Customer will be required to enter the wallet pin

Step 3: On the USSD menu, selection option 2: Cash-Out

Step 4: The customer will now enter the amount (The maximum cash-out total per day is R1000 and per month is R25000)

Step 5: the customer will now receive an SMS with a code, which need to be given to the Cashier or at any Till Point in the Shoprite or Checkers store in

order to cash-out the selected amount.


Note: There is a withdrawal cost of R9.95 for each withdrawal transaction. Maximum cash-out per day is R1000 and maximum cash-out per month is

R25000.


3. Loading Cash:


System required: USSD String *134*3534#


Step 1: In store the customer will dial *134*3534#

Step 2: Customer will be required to enter the wallet pin

Step 3: On the USSD menu, selection option 3: Load Cash

Step 4: Customer will enter the amount they wish to load on their wallet (The maximum amount is R1000 per day)

Step 5: Once the amount is entered ≤ R1000, the customer will receive a code.

Step 6: Customer must provide the code to the cashier and pay the cash amount they have selected to Load.

Step 7: The customer will receive a Till Slip.


Note: You may only Load cash in store at Shoprite or Checkers. The maximum amount to load cash per day is R1000 and a maximum of R25000 per month)


4. Send Money:


System required: USSD String *134*3534#


Step 1: In store the customer will dial *134*3534#

Step 2: Customer will be required to enter the wallet pin

Step 3: On the USSD menu, select option 1: Send money

Step 4: Enter the amount you wish to send (The maximum amount is R1000 per day and a maximum of R25000 per month)

Step 5: Enter the recipient cell number (It is not mandatory for the recipient to have a Money Wallet). Before the transaction can be completed there will

be a confirmation step on the USSD.

Step 6: the sender will receive an SMS that the money has been sent


Note: The maximum amount you can send is R1000 per day and R25000 per month. This same limitation will apply to money received.


5. Buy Electricity:


System required: USSD String *134*3534#


Step 1: In store the customer will dial *134*3534#

Step 2: Customer will be required to enter the wallet pin

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom and select more, then option 6 (Buy electricity).

Step 4: Enter the meter number

Step 5: Enter the amount (Ranging between R10 – R1000)

Once transaction is finalized, you will wait for a minute or 2 to verify and confirm the details of the transaction.


Lastly an SMS will be sent to the customer with the electricity token.


Note: The maximum amount for all types if purchasing in a day is R1000.


6. Buy Airtime:


System required: USSD String *134*3534#


Step 1: In store the customer will dial *134*3534#

Step 2: Customer will be required to enter the wallet pin

Step 3: On the USSD menu, select option 5: Buy airtime

Step 4: Customer will enter the amount

Step 5: Customer will select the number they wish to recharge

Step 6: Customer will confirm and verify the transaction. Customer will receive an SMS with the voucher number.


Note: The maximum amount for all types if purchasing in a day is R1000.


7. Buy Shopping (Groceries)


System required: USSD String *134*3534#


Step 1: In store the customer will dial *134*3534#

Step 2: Customer will be required to enter the wallet pin

Step 3: On the USSD menu, select option 4: Buy shopping

Step 4: Enter the amount you wish to spend

Step 5: A code will be generated which the customer must provide the cashier with to complete the purchase.


Note: The maximum amount a customer can spend is R1000 per day. NB! The unused portion of the amount entered to spend will be reimbursed to the

customer’s wallet.


8. How to cancel a Shared Voucher:


System required: USSD String *134*3534#


Step 1: In store the customer will dial *134*3534#

Step 2: Customer will be required to enter the wallet pin

Step 3: On the USSD menu, select option 9: More > select 7: My Account > then select 3 in “my account”: Manage Shared Vouchers

Step 4: Select an applicable Shared Voucher and request cancel Voucher.


Note: If there are no Shared Vouchers it will show: no Shared Vouchers available





TERMS & CONDITIONS


Shoprite Money is only available in South Africa.


• Purchase, deposits & withdrawals only at stores within the Shoprite Group* compliant with regulations.

• GN6 account (SA Identity Document but not face to face).

• Screening of customers will be done real time via Standard Bank.

• Valid ID and sanction screening as per Standard Bank’s requirements.

• Customer will give consent to the checks before registration can be completed.


Audit trails will be available.


• All financial transactions (customer & business).

• All customer logins (successful & unsuccessful).

• All changes to customer details.

A customer can only have one Shoprite Money account.


To have all the transactions available to them, they need to register.

• The customer will need a valid South African Identity number.

• The customer must be over 18 years of age.

The customer will access their Shoprite Money using their cellphone.

If they lose their phone, their money is still safe, the account can be locked.

• They must call the Shoprite Money call centre.

• Or they need to go into a Shoprite store*.


The customer can change their cellphone number & still access their money.

• The customer needs to go to a Shoprite store*.

Wallet balance and spend limits:

• The maximum balance, at any time of Shoprite Money is R25000.

• The maximum amount to use is R1000 per day.

• The maximum amount to use is R25000 per month.
